Birding

The Wilderness Lakes Area, where Ke Nako is situated, is exceptionally rich in bird life. In addition to two well-placed nearby bird hides, several easily accessible hiking trails, nature reserves and river mouths offer excellent opportunity for bird spotting and photography. Species highlights include African Fish Eagle, Knysna Lourie, African Spoonbill, Pied and Malachite Kingfisher, Bokmakierie, Orange Throated Longclaw, African Stonechat, Levaillants Cisticola, Little Rush Warbler, Lesser Swamp Warbler, Reed and White Breasted Cormorant, African Black Oystercatcher, Swift Tern, Sandwich Tern, Cape Gull, Kelp Gull, Black Headed Heron, Grey Heron and Pied Avocet.

Hiking

Encircled by sea, mountain and nature reserves, the area surrounding Ke Nako offers a range of easy to moderate hiking trails.

Cycling
